International Wedding Photography Awards: A Humbling Experience

As a wedding photographer, I have had the immense privilege of witnessing some of the most beautiful moments in life. Capturing those memories and sharing them with my couples has been an incredibly rewarding experience. But, even better is when those memories are recognized internationally. Recently, I had the honor of having several of my favorite photos be awarded in important international wedding photography contests. Here’s what it was like to receive this amazing recognition.

The Process

Applying for a wedding photography award can be quite a process. First, you have to go through all your photos from the past year and select which ones you think best represent your style as a photographer. Then, you need to narrow down your selection to a maximum number depending on the contest rules (usually 10-15). Once that’s done, you submit your entries and hope for the best!

The Thrill

When I received word that several of my photos had been awarded in these international contests, I felt so honored and humbled! It's one thing to know that your work is appreciated by your clients but it’s another thing entirely to receive recognition from a panel of expert judges who specialize in wedding photography. It's also exciting because these awards bring visibility to my work and help me reach more engaged couples looking for someone they can trust to capture their special day.

The Impact

Winning awards is certainly gratifying but that doesn't mean I'm satisfied with just winning them - if anything, it motivates me even more! Receiving this recognition has helped me refine my skills as a photographer by giving me insight into what industry experts look for when assessing quality wedding photography. This helps me create even more beautiful images for my clients since I now know exactly what elements make up an award-winning photo!

All in all, receiving awards for my work is such a humbling experience that brings joy and pride at the same time.
